The Bedroom
My room is a mess (both literally and figuratively) as you can see but to me it's homey and I'm surrounded by everything I love and that makes me happy (minus a living puppy but I'm working on that).

A friend of mine introduced me to the song Radioactive by the Imagine Dragons in the summer of 2012 and I was in love with it instantly. If you look up the band's explanation you'll see that they it's about having an epiphany and that's part of why I love it. Below is the painting I did that now hangs above my headboard.
I have way too many miscellaneous nic-nacks that I got the idea to start putting them on my walls. I went to Michael's and got two wooden cubes and painted them. This is one of the two, both of which are mounted on my wall housing my weird possessions. The golden tissue-paper flowers I got from Target and they actually come with little stickers to put on the wall.
I have so many pictures with both my high school friends from back home and my new friends I've made here in college. To me pictures make any room your own so I figured why not cover an entire empty wall with pictures of the people I love to surround myself with. Each of the frames come from random stores and gifts from friends. The moroccan mirror is honestly my most prized find and was only $20 from Bed Bath and Beyond.
But my bedroom walls aren't even the end to the amount of decorations I put in my room. My desk, door, and even closet are filled with my personal touches. I painted the cork board border (which was originally black) with gold acrylic paint to give it a vintage-y vibe. My apartment came furnished and included a bed-side table which promptly turned into a desk-top bookshelf since I use stacked hat boxes as my bed-side table. I made the "Carpe Diem" poster last year for my dorm but since it was still in good shape it's now on the door to my room. The silver picture frame with the silver sconce is actually the top of the bed-side table provided to my room by my apartment complex and if you look further down you'll see it on top of my desk.
